Overview

First, try it out here!

If you have cats, dogs, or horses and love plants, you know how hard it is to find pet-safe ones. You want to be 100% sure, so you don’t just trust Google or ChatGPT. I pulled reliable data from the ASPCA, made it searchable, and gave it some charm. Yay for beautiful typography!

Approach

This started as a small project for checking plant toxicity for cats and dogs—just for myself. But it turned out to solve a real problem. From Google Analytics, I noticed it gaining traction in horse riding and farm communities. After running surveys and a few interviews, I realized people wanted a single resource for plant toxicity info covering all free-roaming animals—so they can have peace of mind when their pets are out of sight.

Solution

For now, the checker covers the three most requested animals. But when I find some spare time, I plan to add the next most requested ones—rabbits and guinea pigs.
